The following questions cover some of our basic concerns that we feel are important to understand when we consider a family for adopting a puppy or adult from CBWags4u Dachsies. We are selective in placing our puppies in the proper home environment, and reserve the right to refuse placement based upon our instinct and validation of the information provided. Some of the questions that we ask are to provide us with background information that will help us to help you in raising your new family addition. Please give careful thought to each question and provide your answers by copying the questions to an email bw@cbwags4udachsies.com or using the word document we have created which can be attached to either an email or sent via USPS mail. It is our firm policy that when we place a puppy in your home the opportunity is provided to you for our lifelong support, and your personal information is retained in your puppy files with your purchase contract for our viewing only. Our final decision is taking into consideration that we want both the puppy, and you to live a wonderful long and happy life together. Name(s): Full Address Home Address --Street Number, City, State, and Zip Code: Telephone number(s) – Home & Cell: If you are seeking Full Registration/Show Potential Dachshund – Please provide us with two personal references (contact phone number, and best time to call) – We are asking for you to provide us with a person (friend or relative) that can provide us with information to support your sincere interest in the Miniature Dachshund Breed, that you have a stable home – support system to properly provide care for the animals that you adopt. Whom may we thank for a reference or how did you find CBWags4u Dachsies? Have you planned for the emotional and financial responsibility of owning a dog? Do you work outside the home, and how will you be leaving your pet alone every day? What is your or your family personal lifestyle, and how will the Dachsie fit into your lifestyle? Are there children in your home? We ask that adults make sure that small children are always supervised with pets - for safety of both the child & the pet. What type of information have you used in deciding on selecting the Miniature Dachshund breed for a pet? What information have you read or what is you personal knowledge about Miniature Dachshunds? Do you own or rent your residence? If you are renting we will need a statement from your landlord regarding the acceptance of pets - including multiple pets if you are adopting an additional pet. Are you moving in the near future? Please provide us with your new full address including the new street, city, and zip code. Name of Veterinarian and contact phone number. If you are adopting for the first time you may want to take some time to interview local Veterinarians and schedule your first appointment which is required 72 hrs after you adopt one of our Miniature Dachshunds. How many pets other than this puppy will live in the residence and what kind of pets do you presently own? Are there any family members that have severe allergies, and if so are you certain that dog dander is not an allergen that will cause health issues? Do you have a secure area in your home for the puppy when not supervised? Do you have a fenced in yard or secure method for puppy to go outside? Will you be able to provide at a minimum 30 minutes of exercise and play for the pet? Have you ever house trained a dog? Have you ever crate trained a dog? Have you considered obedience training such as a “puppy class”? Are you considering AKC events – conformation, obedience, agility, rally, or earth dog/field trials? Do you understand the difference between AKC registrations - Full or Limited? Are you considering breeding this puppy? Have you ever surrendered a pet, and what were the circumstances? Our pet puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract – which means that written proof must be provided to CBWags4u Dachsies from the veterinarian that has preformed the spay or neuter of your pet so that the contract/guarantee provided to you at the time of purchase continues to be valid for the lifetime of the pet. At the time proof of spay/neuter is provided to CBWags4u Dachsies we will then mail the AKC Limited Registration documents for your pet. Our Adults are sometimes offered on a spay/neuter contract similar to our puppy contract with specific modifications regarding the guarantee, and when proof of the spay/neuter is provided to CBWags4u Dachsies we release AKC documents for your pet. Full Registration is offered on puppies that have been carefully evaluated for their potential to compete in AKC Conformation events - we are very selective about offering full registration of our breeding lines. Our evaluation does not guarantee a championship for your puppy - that is up to you to compete/complete. All Full Registration Puppies will be co-owned with CBWags4u Dachsies until the time that they become AKC champions - unless other terms have been determined acceptable prior to the adoption/placement of your puppy on a Full Registration agreement. A specific detailed outline of the terms to the Full Registration Agreement will be provided to our customers that are interested in such an agreement, and each contract is personalized to the individual(s) who will be co-owners with CBWags4u Dachsies. Our intention in co-ownership of Full Registration CBWags4u Dachsies is to ensure that our specific terms are met with regards to showing, and breeding to further improve the miniature dachshund breed.
